We're currently looking for a Programme Manager to join our team on a full-time contract and help us deliver exciting new changes across our organisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Assistant Head of Property Services you will lead the directly employed building operations in the New Build and Major Works team.  Be responsible for ensuring that South Tyneside Homes delivers its new build and capital programmes in a cost-effective manner and delivers a high-quality service to South Tyneside Homes' residents.  Manage the day to day running of the New Build and Major Works Team and ensure the effective management, training, and appraisal of all staff in the team.  Ensure the efficient and effective operation of the New Build and Major Works team.  Deputise for the Assistant Head of property services as appropriate and contribute effectively to both the Property Services Management Team and the South Tyneside Homes Senior Management Team.  Aspire to and maintain the utmost standards in Health and Safety for our employees, our customers, and the public.

About You

You will have experience of working in a management role, preferably in a construction environment or a similar background and be able to demonstrate a genuine desire to make a difference to people's lives. Key to your success will be evidenced by your abilities to develop and promote involvement, communication and partnership working in all aspects of service delivery, whilst ensuring that external, statutory, and regulatory obligations, performance, and financial targets are met.

The success of our New Build and Major Works team has been built on a highly engaging performance related culture within the teams and delivering the highest standards of customer care to ensure that services are monitored effectively, and standards and targets are understood by staff, and you will play a part in building on this success

Other key attributes and skills are required to support your application, these include the requirement to evidence that you have:

  • Hold or willing to work towards an HNC in Construction Studies or equivalent.

·       Management experience

·       Experience of project and financial management

·       Experience in leading and managing a technical and operational team

·       Experience of working in a frontline construction related service.

·       Able to demonstrate successful management of a team.

·       Successful achievement in working with local communities/tenants.

·       Experience of delivering services which meet the needs of customers

·       Experience of managing construction planned maintenance and refurbishment programmes and contracts in the social housing sector

·       Experience of budget management

·       Experience of working within a value for money environment.

·       Experience of partnership and multi-agency working.
