Tenants' Annual Report 2023
The 2023 Tenants' Annual Report is available now.
The report summarises the performance of South Tyneside Homes during the last financial year (April 2022 to March 2023) from a tenant's perspective.
The report is written by tenants for tenants, and highlights where service areas have performed well and, more importantly, where there is room for improvement going forward.

Why we need an Annual Report
The Regulator for Social Housing regulates registered providers of social housing to promote a usable, efficient and well-governed social housing sector able to deliver homes that meet a range of needs.
The Regulatory Framework for Social Housing outlines what is expected of registered housing providers by setting out 'standards' for service delivery.
South Tyneside Council and South Tyneside Homes are responsible for making sure that these standards are being met in a clear and accountable way.
South Tyneside Council must demonstrate that it has worked with customers to agree and develop standards that set out how services will be delivered.
It is the job of tenants of the Borough to work with South Tyneside Council and South Tyneside Homes to make sure that these standards are being met.
The standards, how they are met and key challenges for the year ahead are outlined in the Annual Report which is published each Autumn - reports review the performance of the previous financial year.
The report is written by tenants for tenants.
The Annual Report Working Group
Each year tenants from across the Borough join together to write the Annual Report.
This group of tenants look at all the facts and figures provided by South Tyneside Homes to assess how the organisation is performing against the standards.
Through their role as tenants they are independent and are able to provide a balanced report on how South Tyneside Homes is performing each year and, more importantly, where there are areas for improvement.
